Complete loose-leaf reference designed to enable efficient, conclusive research of administrative law subjects.

Pike & Fischer's Administrative Law, which commenced publication in September 1941, is a complete loose-leaf reference designed to enable efficient, conclusive research of administrative law subjects. Issued monthly, it allows the researcher to reliably study the increasing body of case law dealing with matters of agency practice, procedure, fees, venue, and jurisdiction.

Administrative Law features a Desk Book that serves as a comprehensive source of relevant laws, legislative history, Attorney's General Memoranda and model rules. A comprehensive Digest system, which is conveniently indexed by tabbed section, organizes case law pursuant to an efficient topic-number system of classification.

Plus, the full text of important decisions from every level of the federal system—district and appellate courts, the Supreme Court, as well as Article I courts and federal agencies—is included.

Content & Coverage
Decisions
Every month Administrative Law provides the text of recent court and agency decisions selected by lawyers who are knowledgeable and seasoned observers of the federal regulatory process. Hundreds of opinions are screened for each issue to single out those with the greatest significance, precedential value, and widespread applicability.

Convenient correlation tables provide citations to other selected reporting services.

Digests
Concise, carefully worded digests are classified based upon principles common to the procedures of all administrative agencies.

These digests are classified horizontally to facilitate citation in proceedings involving different agencies. The analytical framework encompasses more than the original Administrative Procedure Act. It provides separate and distinct topic-based coverage of developments under the numerous statutes governing administrative procedure such as the Freedom of Information Act and its 1974, 1986, and 1996 amendments, the Privacy Act, the Government in the Sunshine Act, the Federal Advisory Committee Act, and the Regulatory Flexibility Act. Special treatment is also given to the fee recovery provisions of the Equal Access to Justice Act.

AdLaw Bulletin
The AdLaw Bulletin, a supplement to Administrative Law, is a monthly newsletter highlighting judicial and agency decisions and important developments in administrative law. One copy accompanies each Administrative Law release, and the Bulletin is also available by separate subscription. The Bulletin provides a monthly briefing on key decisions affecting the rulemaking, enforcement, and adjudicatory powers of federal agencies, as well as judicial review of agency action and public right of access to information held by the federal government. It covers all three branches, providing news of Legislative Branch developments; Executive Branch actions at all levels, including presidential proclamations and directives affecting all federal agencies; and Judicial Branch decisions and hearings of concern to administrative practitioners and scholars.

Desk Book
The comprehensive Desk Book is an invaluable two-volume resource that provides:

Relevant sections of the United States Code covering administrative law, district and appellate court venue, jurisdiction of appeals from agency actions, and the United States as a party.
A compendium of legislative histories covering pertinent statutory developments beginning with the 1946 Administrative Procedure Act and ending with the 1996 Electronic Freedom of Information Act.
The Attorney General's 1947 Manual on the Administrative Procedure Act.
The Attorney General’s Memoranda on the Freedom of Information Act and the 1974 FOIA Amendments.
The Office of Management and Budget’s FOIA fee guidelines.
The Model Rules for Implementation of the Equal Access to Justice Act from the Administrative Conference of the United States.
The Citizen’s Guide on Using FOIA and the Privacy Act. Back to top
