About the Speakers:
Bruce Vernon, Vice President, Fertilizer, Viterra Inc.’s AgriProducts Group - Bruce Vernon is vice president, fertilizer, with Viterra’s AgriProducts Group. Bruce accepted the position with Viterra in September 2009, and is responsible for the company’s global fertilizer portfolio and for developing an overall fertilizer strategy with a focus on market expansion. Bruce has a long history in the fertilizer industry. Prior to joining Viterra, he was manager of sales and marketing for Mid Kansas Cooperative (MKC), a full-service farm co-op with 37 locations and some 7,000 members in central Kansas. Before joining MKC, Bruce was director of crop nutrients marketing and risk management for Agriliance, where he and his team introduced and managed price and supply risk management applications. Prior to joining Agriliance, Bruce was a regional manager for Farmland Industries. He joined Farmland in 1982 and held various sales, marketing and management positions in the company’s business divisions.

Alexey Paliy, Director of Fertilizer Derivatives, Freight Investor Services (FIS) - Alexey joined FIS Ltd in 2006 in London. Prior that he worked for a large commodity brokerage trading European electricity. In 2007 Alexey moved to US to set up the FIS fertilizer desk in New York.

Ryan Sherwood, Price Risk Management Consultant, FCStone - Ryan Sherwood is a Risk Management Consultant with FCStone, LLC in Omaha, Nebraska. He is responsible for bringing risk management solutions to wholesale, warehouse, and end-user companies in the grain, energy and fertilizer industries. FCStone, LLC is a commodity risk management company providing risk management consulting and transaction execution services to commercial commodity intermediaries, end-users and producers.
