About the Speakers: Moderator: Christopher Wolf, Partner, Hogan & Hartson - Chris Wolf is widely recognized as one of the leading American practitioners in the field of privacy and data security law. He is known to clients as a practical problem solver on issues arising from the collection use, retention, sharing, and security of personal data; as a thoughtful compliance counselor focused on risk management; and as an effective advocate in federal court, at the Federal Trade Commission or before state agencies, on the entire range of international and domestic privacy issues. Chris is a 1980 magna cum laude, Order of the Coif graduate of the law school at Washington & Lee University, where he served on Law Review and was a Teaching Fellow. He graduated in 1976, cum laude, from Bowdoin College and was a General Course participant at the London School of Economics & Political Science. He clerked for U.S. District Judge Aubrey E. Robinson, Jr. in Washington, DC before entering private practice.Jackie Medecki, Senior Attorney, Intel - Jackie Medecki is a Senior Attorney with Intel supporting Intel’s Marketing Creative Services organization and the Intel Social Media Center of Excellence. Jackie has supported Intel’s Marketing Department for the last three years including marketing and legal support for all Intel external-facing web activities, including oversight of Intel.com and Intel’s social media guidelines and programs on Intel.com and on third party sites such as Second Life, YouTube, Flikr, Facebook, and Twitter. In this role she has advised on a variety issues including content, CAN-SPAM, FTC, SEC and privacy compliance, and copyright, trademark, and confidentiality. Jackie has developed and implemented various corporate guidelines, trainings and policies focused on marketing, blogging, social media, sweepstakes and contests, UGC, web hot topics and Intel’s policy on keyword purchasing, and DMCA and CDA compliance. Jane P. Edwards, Counsel, IBM Corporation - Jane Edwards is a legal counsel for IBM Corporation in Armonk, NY. She provides legal support to a wide variety of corporate clients, including the Corporate Privacy Office, IBM Marketing and Communications, the CIO’s office, Corporate Citizenship and Community Affairs, the Procurement organization, and IBM Flight Operations. Prior to joining IBM in 2005, Jane practiced corporate and securities law at Arnold & Porter LLP from 1999 to 2005. Jane graduated from Villanova University in 1996 and The George Washington University Law Center in 1999. William P. Flanagan, Partner, Hogan & Hartson - Bill Flanagan has spent his entire legal career at the firm representing companies from large national corporations to small startup companies in numerous industries, including energy, finance, health, technology, and telecommunications. He handles complex, management-side litigation in federal and state courts and agencies brought under anti-discrimination, disability, and leave laws. Bill also has considerable experience in other employment matters, including executive compensation, wage payment, trade secret and non-competition law, wrongful termination, and issues faced by U.S companies who wish to operate globally. His practice includes large class action and collective action cases, as well as individual mediations and arbitrations, and he often represents senior executives when negotiating employment or separation agreements. Bill regularly counsels clients' legal and human resources teams and provides training and updates on a host of workplace issues.
