The ABA estimates that over 90% of all information is now in digital format. With the increased use of computers in society, the necessity of electronic evidence in litigation has escalated. The evidence is everywhere -- from laptops, CDs, and backup tapes to digital cameras and PDAs.

19 USC §1337 has now expanded to include infringements on patents, cybersquatting, web traffic diversion, theft of trade secrets, copyright issues, and a variety of other intellectual property rights. Computer forensics tools help IP owners stop harmful activity and provide powerful evidence in court. Using real-world scenarios, this 90-minute audio conference will inform you on the power of using forensics to preserve and analyze electronic data captured online or in storage for use in support of litigation.

What Was Covered:
  • Electronic evidence; how can it help your case?
  • Data and media storage concepts; how do you know where to start?
  • Forensic acquisition and examination; what does computer forensics mean?
  • Document confusing online trademark usage and "cybersquatting"
  • Find infringing copies of protected music
  • Reporting and presenting digital evidence; how do you demonstrate "cyberstuffing" to a judge?
